Information-bibliographic department

The department's responsibilities:

Reference-bibliographic service with use of traditional and new technologies;
Analytical writing of articles and building of own electronic databases;
Providing the users with access to the global information resources through direct acquaintance with documents or their copies;
Organization of work on formation of the RIF;
Studying and satisfaction of the users' inquiries.

The department has a reference fund, universal in contents and unique in structure, it includes:

Encyclopedias, directories and dictionaries of universal and branch character;
Bibliographic indexes of 1949-1990;
Book annals;
The annals of journal articles;

The annals of newspaper articles;
Abstract magazines on various branches of knowledge;
Scientifically-auxiliary and recommendatory bibliographic manuals;
The region studies editions including the books on history, natural resources, economy, culture, political life of the Fergana region, the works of Fergana writers.

The hall of catalogues and card indices has a reference-bibliographic team opening the structure and contents of all library funds:

An alphabetic catalogue;
The systematic catalogue;
A systematic card index of articles-materials from periodicals for the last 10 years;
The region studies catalogue - materials on natural resources, ecology, history, economy, culture of Fergana region and literature study materials about Fergana writers;
Card index of the art works' titles.

The region studies sector:

The department's objective is giving the users easy access to the region studies information. The sector's fund consists basically of books and periodicals on history, economy, industry and agriculture, political, public and cultural life of Fergana area.

The sector carries out a complex of works on library region studies:

Search of information about Fergana area in printed and electronic sources,
Building card catalogues, funds of region studies editions (books, magazines, maps, etc.),
Informing the population of the community bout new regional literature.

The legal information sector:

The sector's employees will help you:

To find concrete books, magazines and newspapers in the library funds;
To pick up the literature on the desirable theme;
To find information on concrete facts, events, people;
Will consult you on how to use catalogues and card indexes, about the literature search technique, about drawing up a bibliographic list;
Training the readers of the information culture basics.
