The care of the users with limited opportunities
On June 8, 2007 the center of «Information resources on physical handicap» was visited by Thomas Bolive - the director of Handicap International programs in the CIS countries and Viola Artikova - the project manager of the «Network of information resources on physical handicap project for the civil society in Uzbekistan», financed by the European Union Commission. The purpose of their visit was acquaintance with the work of the center, the achieved results, problems arising during the work, etc.
In conversation with the ILC's director D. Shukurova, deputy director N. Amirova, and the center manager A. Karimova the further steps for provision the center visitors with more comfortable work conditions have been planned.
In particular for the visually impaired readers «speaking books» will be acquired, which they can hear directly in the library using computer which will be given by administration of the library. The ways of purchase of the videoequipment for watching films from the center's funds, and Internet access for communication with the head office in Tashkent that will allow receiving operative answers to questions relating the problem of treatment and protection of the handicaps' rights will be searched for as well.
