New English books collection from the American Embassy 29.04.2009 17:29
On April 29, 2009 the Foreign Literature Department of our Fergana Library Center welcomed the press-attaché Mrs. Molly Stivenson and other representatives of the American Embassy in Uzbekistan. They have conducted a presentation of a collection of modern books in English, which they presented our library. The presentation gathered teachers and pupils of the city schools, professors and students of the Fergana State University and city lyceums, colleges. Also a group of Marguilan city school #2, mathematics group visited the presentation.

The director and Mrs. Stivenson have spoke to the visitors about the new books. In their turn, the grateful visitors have prepared speeches for the guests, as well as read poems.
After the presentation the library users and the new comers started to look over the new books. Among the books they could find the TOEFL, LSAT, GRE, GMAT preparation books, dictionaries, English linguistics, vocabulary, grammar books, American history, and fiction books. A lot of books were granted especially for the librarians, their main content is about librarianship and library management.
During the books review the students and pupils had conversations with Mrs. Molly Stivenson and library workers about the books and other topics.
Everybody liked the presentation and especially the new books for English learning. As said the library director in her speech, this collection is a great present from the American Embassy to the 110th anniversary, the library celebrates this year.
