Center of Legal Information
The centre of legal information
Is a structural division of the Fergana regional scientific universal library named after Ahmad al Fargoniy.
The centre was opened in 2001 under the Program of the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Open Society Institute - Uzbekistan.
The basic objectives of the Centre are easy access of our users to legal information and normative-legislative sources by which to increase knowledge and legal culture of Fergana region population.
The Center provides its users with:
The fund of modern editions, which contains over 1200 books, 36 periodic editions in Uzbek and Russian languages.
The fund represents the major current periodic editions of the state authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries and departments, higher judicial bodies of the country, bodies of authority of the Fergana region. There are directories and encyclopaedic dictionaries in the law, collections of Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign countries, forms of documents.
Electronic resources of the Centre:
- legal-reference systems "PRAVO","NORMA".
- CD-ROM.
These information systems provide:
- a choice of normative-legal acts by switching options of search;
- viewing of the chosen acts on the computer screen;
- printing them out.
The department employees professionally help to search the necessary information, give necessary database work training.
The Centre users have the opportunity to access the legal resources over the Internet and receive consultation on the Internet search.
The centre has 4 computers:
- 3 computers are for the readers;
- 1 computer for information service of the users.
The Centre also has a copier and a printer. Access to all paper and electronic materials is provided without any restrictions.
The Centre users may:

overlook books, periodic editions (newspaper, weekly journals, magazines) in the reading hall, and if necessary to take them home for while the Centre is closed;

to order the literature of a high demand beforehand (as well as on the phone);

to use the legal information system "PRAVO";

to use Internet for search of legislative information;

to bring in offers on purchase of new books to increase the fund of the Centre;

to copy materials from the CLI fund;

to print out materials from databases on a paper;

to save results of the database search to a floppy.
