Mohidil Uzakova, the chief librarian of the common reading room and Zuhra Zaripova, the leading librarian of the library and information storage department, shared the story of Hamid Gulom's novel "Black river"

Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, People's Writer of Uzbekistan Hamid Gulom was born on April 25, 1919 in the family of a Tashkent music teacher. After graduating from high school, he studied at Central Asian Industrial Institute (1935–1937) and Tashkent Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami (1938–1941). In the early 1930s, Hamid Gulom came to literature with poems "Our Camp", "Adam", "Bright as the Sun". Works by Hamid Ghulam, "On the Dnipro", "On the road to victory" and "Dark river" are also presented to our people.

In the novel “Dark river” tells about the love of ordinary villagers Dilbar and Obidjon, the process of hardening in their school of life, finding their way through the hard work, diligence and honest work that has led to many positive and negative events in life.

The events occur mainly in the construction of the Kampirravot Dam, also known as the Andizhan Sea.
